Overall, the water demand for agriculture, industrial, and domestic fields rose significantly during the period shown. Moreover, from the table, the consumption of water in Brazil was dwarfed by the one in Congo in 2000.
In 1900, the water usage from agriculture ranked first with nearly 500 km following by industrial and domestic sectors with a similar figure (nearly 100 km). Then, the figure for agriculture increased rapidly by over 500 km, while the data on industrial use and domestic use saw modest growth and shared a comparable figure.
