The table chart compares the proportion of males and females who were employed in four separate sectors of employment in three different years (1990, 2000 and 2010).
Overall, it can be seen that more females worked in health sector, while manufacturing industry was male-dominant. Moreover, over the given year, manufacturing industry witnessed a downfall in case of both genders.
To begin with, manufacturing sector had the highest proportion of the working men; however, it reduced from 30% to 10% after 20 years. Similarly, for tourism sector, a decreasing trend was observed as percentage dropped to 9% from 13%. Almost same proportion of males, ranging from 6% to 9%, worked in retail and health for all the given years.
Probing further, 23% of females worked in health sector in 1990, increasing to 27 by the end of 2010. In contrast, the percentage of women in manufacturing industry saw a major downfall from 1990 to 2010 as the proportion decreased to mere 2% from 15%. A similar increasing trend was noticed in both retail and tourism industries; both increased by 1% each year to reach 9% and 15% respectively in 2010.
