The charts show the proportion of holidaymakers of one region staying in different types of accommodation in three different years.
The given pie charts compare the proportion rate of living choices opted by tourists from a given region during three different years 1965, 1985 and 2005.
From the overall trend, a drastic fall is witnessed over staying with relatives/friends, while demand for hotels soared at a significant rate. However, camping and caravans remained at the lower end with periodic fluctuations.
Getting back to details, more than half of visitors stayed with relatives as compared to just 16%, 15% and 14% in hotels, camps and caravans respectively in 1965. After a period of two decades, stay with relatives fell sharply by 20%, whereas hotels observed a huge spike and accounted for 37%. In contrary, camping and caravan declined by nearly 4% and 3%.
In 2005, hotels retained the highest accommodation rate and made up to 38%. Followed next by stay at home option, which accounted for 30%, a dropdown of just 5% from last two decades. On the other hand, with 10% increase caravan attracted more visitors as compared to just 12% holidaymakers, who opted for camping.
