The given bar chart compares the expenditure for charity from British people of different ages in the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall, a greater number of British people donated money for charity in 1990. However, across two years, different patterns are seen in the age bracket 50 and above.
In 1990, a significant proportion of two-fifths people aged 36-50 gave money to charity, which is also the highest figure on the chart. While people from 18-25 witnessed the lowest level of donation at 15%. However, there was a descending trend in 2010. These figures had fallen significantly by 35% and 7% respectively.
Although the number of donations for people over 50 slightly plunged over two years, they rose among the 51-65 group from 35% to 40%, ranking the highest data of charitable donation in 200. The percentage for the over 65s was lower than this, at well above a third, but it was still a little higher than the 1990 proportion of 32%
