New developments in agriculture include factory farming and creation of new fruits and vegetables Many people believe however that huge industrial farms and genetically modified plants are dangerous and that we need to go back smaller more natural farming

With the advancement in technology, changes are happening in all walks of life. As a result, scientists have developed new plants and farmers are using more macheineries and growing bigger crops and herds. However, some people are worried about the effects of these developments on people and on the environment. in my perception, although, we cannot go back completely to the ancient methods of farming, we need to be careful with our farming.

Agriculture needs to develop. We need more food for the worlds increasing population. Innovation in agriculture such as, mechanical farming and the creation of genetic engineering for more food and vegetables may be the only way to feed the ever surging population. The second point is that, the availability of water and land are decreasing day by day. It will be better, if we use it wisely and effectively to produce more. It not only increase the availability of food in the market but also, reduces its price, which will be favorable for general public. The third point is that,the technological developments helps to reduce the waste and inefficiency. It is true that a huge amount of food is lost due to diseases, insects,rats, decay, poor handling and storage. Therefore, governments around the world should have the obligation to fund for the technological developments in farming in order to make an enough production of food for the people.

However, not all changes in the agricultural field are positive. Some new discoveries such as genetically modified foods may be dangerous. We don't know completely about the after effect of the products on human body. These also interrupt with the natural balance of ecosystem and may affect us adversely in unexpected ways. Furthermore, factory farming often causes diseases or its spread when we keep animals in bad conditions. Besides, animals like hen, cow and so on are crowded together in sheds or cages, unable to move well and some times feed unsuitable foods or hormones. This in turn effect the quality of the food and disease can spread quickly. Presently, farming has become business. This means profit comes first.Although technological developments in agriculture is beneficial in the short term, it has significant long term impacts too.

in conclusion, farming has to change in order to feed the world. At the same time, it also needs to produce good quality of food and not effect the environment. As consumers, we should make sure that our food is produced properly, not just avail cheaply.
