The line graph shows the counts of tourists, in millions of visitors, who had been to a Caribbean island during a 7 years period, starting from 2010 all the way up to 2017. Besides the total series, the data was further classified into two series based on their place of stay, whether on cruise ships or on the very island.
As for the overall chronological trend, the period in question saw a dramatic rise from a baseline of 1 million visitor, in 2010, to an endpoint of 3.5 million tourists in 2017. Except for the year 2016, which had almost the same total number of visitors as the preceding year, that increase was generally gradual.
However, the slope was different in the two specific segments. Those who dwelled on the island almost plateaued at 1.5 million between 2013 and 2017, with only a slight dip in 2016 at around 1.25 million. On the other hand, the number of those who chose cruise ships had oscillated for the first 4 years between approximately 0.25 million and 0.5 million. From 2013 onwards, though, the figure was steadily growing.
In toto, offshore visitors of the Caribbean island were increasing from 2010 to 2017. The possible options of stay, nonetheless, did not all increase proportionately.
