A chart on the average annual expenditures on a cell phone and residential phone services, 2001-2010.
The given chart compares the annual cost structure(in dollars) on the usage of cell and residential phone services over a period of 10 years from 2001 to 2010.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over the period as a whole, both the services witnessed a reverse trend. While the cell phone expenditure grew dramatically, the other fell drastically over time.
According to the given illustration, to begin with, a maximum of $700 billing was observed for the landline system as compared to only $200 for the cell service. However, with the passing years, the average spending on cell services rose significantly to reach almost equal to the residential phone expenditure by the end of 2006 with more than $500.
After that, whereas the cell expenditure surpassed the other, reaching a peak of approximately $800, the landline billing plunged sharply by nearly 50% of the cell billing after a decade. Hence, with the time, the cell phones outweigh the landline trend to a greater extent.
