The diagram illustrates the production of chocolate.
It is clear from the diagram that there are ten stages in the making of chocolate, from harvesting cacao pods to pressing crushed beans to make liquid chocolate.
Firstly, ripe red pods are harvested from cacao trees grown in either South America or Indonesia. After that, white cocoa beans are extracted from the pods. Once the extraction process has completed, the beans are fermented by covering them with large leaves. After fermentation, the beans are spreaded to dry in the sun. Dried beans are put in large sacks to by transported by train or lorry to the chocolate factory.
Upon the arrival of the beans at the factory, they are roasted at 350 degree. The roasted beans are then put into a designated apparatus, which can crush the beans and remove its outer shell simultaneously. Finally, the pulverized beans are pressed to produce liquid chocolate.
