The article state that Rambrant is the most famous of the seventeenth-century Dauch painter and it also pointed out that there is doubt about some painting attributed to him stating the example of a portrait of an elderly woman in a white bonnet. However, the professor explains that the painting is indeed by Rambrant, she pointed out few point that explains the points stated in the passage that shows the painting wasn't by Rambrant.
First, the article pointed out that Rambrant pays attention to details, pointing out that there are some inconsistency in the way the portrait was painted. It pointed out that the woman's outfit in the painting shows a combination of servant wear and luxurious wear. However, the professor pointed out in the lecture that the luxurious fur collar was added to the painting a century after it was painted to improve it market value.
Secondly, the article pointed out that since Rambrandt is a master of details, he wouldn't have made mistates in the ligting of the painting.
