Nosinia is an herb that many users report to be as effective as prescription medications at fighting allergy symptoms. Researchers recently compared Nosinia to a placebo in 95 men and women with seasonal allergies to ragweed pollen. Participants in the study reported that neither Nosinia nor the placebo offered significant relief. However, for the most severe allergy symptoms, the researchers reported that Nosinia was more effective than the placebo in providing relief. Furthermore, at the end of the study, participants given Nosinia were more likely than participants given a placebo to report feeling healthier. We, therefore, recommend using Nosinia to help with your severe allergy symptoms.
The author of the recommendation states that many users report Nosinia to be as effective as pharmaceutical medications at relieving allergy symptoms. They then go on to mention a recent study that examined 95 patients that experienced seasonal ragweed pollen allergies, the sample was split into two groups, one that was given Nosinia and the other was given a placebo. The patients reported little to no relief when it comes to less severe symptoms of the allergy, however the patients that experience more severe symptoms reported greater relief. In addition to stating that patients that were given the herb were reporting feeling healthier. It may initially seem like the recommendation is well founded, however, when exposed to any form of questioning any confidence in the study crumbles.
First, as stated in the introduction, the claim at the start of the recommendation states that users report the herb being as effective as prescription medications. The author, however, does not state what these medications are, nor do they state which allergies the users are consuming to mitigate, the study cited only mentions one seasonal allergy which may as well be very rare considering the miniscule sample size, it may be possible that Nosinia is effective against other more common allergies.
Second, the study states that patients experiencing more severe symptoms were experiencing more relief using the herb than their placebo counterparts. But it doesn't go into why that is, a more thorough analysis of the chemical structure and its interaction with the chemicals that cause these severe reactions.
Finally, the author states that the patients that used Nosinia were feeling more "healthy". This needs to be elaborated upon, not only could the placebo be a pill, which when compared to an herb, would make the herb seem more healthy, ironically causing a placebo effect that causes patients to feel more healthy, this bias may come from modern distrust of pharmaceutical companies.
In conclusion. more studies with better sources need to be cited in order to reach a more robust result.
