The table illustrates the length of conversation via telephone by three different ways in the UK over the course of 7 years, starting in 1995.
Looking at the chart, it is immediately obvious that the amount of time which people spend to talk experienced an upward trend, with an exception of local telephone calls. However, it still was the highest figure over the period.
The minutes of local phone calls stood at 72 billion minutes at the beginning, which was nearly doubled to national and international telephone calls. Over the following four years, this figure rose steadily and reached the highest point of 90 billion minutes in 1999. Similarity, the number of minutes by foreign and global conversation and mobile underwent an increasing through the time. National and international telephone calls ascended from nearly 40 billion to 50 million, while mobile phone calls lasted for just more than 10 billion minutes.
In the remnant years, there was a contrast between three categories. The amount of time talking through local dip gradually to more than 70 billion minutes, which was equivalent to the beginning. Unlike local, national and international ascended continually and peaked at just over than 60 billion minutes. There was a similar trend in mobile phone calls, it grew dramatically and reached a peak at the end of period by approximately 45 billion.
