Although more and more people read the news on the Internet, newspapers will remain the most important source of news for the majority of people. Do you agree or disagree?
In the modern world, among numerous issues people have to deal with, the Internet is one of them. There is a wide belief that despite the development of the Internet, newspapers will comprise the most essential news for most people. From my personal perspective, I am in favor of this idea owing to the following grounds.
The compelling justification for defending the aforesaid position is that some people had difficulty in accessing the Internet to read the news. It means, the elderly usually showed their preferences or having newspapers rather than surfing the Internet because of the lack of ability of technology. Additionally, in some regions, the Internet is still not covered. A good illustration can be found in the face that reading news from the Internet is not common in all remote areas or islands because of physical facilities so reading newspapers is more popular for the majority of people.
The other reason as to why this standpoint should be supported is newspaper information security. In detail, some websites on the Internet can not be controlled. Therefore, this makes people read fake news and brings some detrimental consequences. Take for example, in the period of COVID - 19 epidemic, if some people are not alert, they will be affected by fake news related to lockdown orders, isolation orders, or conditions of patients so it is better for them to read news from the traditional media to have the most accurate and timely information.
In conclusion, the ongoing arguments have convinced me that although more and more people read the news on the Internet, newspapers will remain the most important source of news for the majority of people.
