The information about the estimated literacy rates by region and gender between 2000 and 2004 is illustrated in a table.
Overall, the percentage of literacy in Europe's Male saw the highest, as well as for female's one. Meanwhile, the figure for Africa was the smallest proportion.
To begin with, the total literacy rates by all sex in Europe took up to the highest level with almost 100%, followed by total in Americas and Oceania with around 93% for both. When it came to the world, the proportion for literacy by male gender was more able than a woman with just under 90%
Other figures could be seen in the percentage of men in Asia who liked literacy was more popular with approximately 85%, compared to woman's one with just above seven in ten. Another noticeable rate came from the people in Africa with about three-fifths in total, being accounted for considerably the lowest proportion.
