The bar charts provide information about the number of students who chose certain university subjects in 2005. In general, the ratio of boys and girls choosing subjects is not equal.
As can be seen, students of both sexes performed best in Social Sciences, Sciences, Humanities, Literature. Results for boys and girls were roughly the same in Humanities. In other subjects, however, there were some significant differences.
The most studied subject at university for girls is Social Sciences, with 25 thousand girls while boys are only 15 thousand. The difference is even bigger in Languages, where nearly 20 thousand girls choose while boys are less than 5 thousand. The only subject that has more boys students than girls students in Mathematics with 20 thousand boys while girls only 5 thousand.
In summary, based on information on choosing subjects at university for boys and girls, it can be concluded that the personalities and interests as well as strengths and weaknesses of boys and girls are different.
