In many developing countries, there is an increasing movement of workers from rural areas into the cities. Why do you think this happens? What problems can this cause?
It is true that more and more people tend to leave their agricultural backgrounds to live in cities. This essay will discuss some reasons why this has occurred and examine the effects this has.
There are some reasons why there is a number of workers immigrating to cities. One of the biggest causes is that the development of rural and urban areas is not the same. While there are plenty of choices of work with higher salaries in the cities, the lack of job opportunities is happening in the countries. In other words, low-incomes in rural areas lead to a bad quality of life, which could not provide them health care systems or housing. Apart from lower salaries, well-infrastructured in cities result in employees leaving their countries. This means that, a better education, transportation, and health care services attract people to live in the cities.
The fact that the relocation of people from rural areas into the cities exerts considerable on the development of country and city. The first impact is that there will be an explosion in the urban population. That means it puts more burden on traffic systems and education systems. In addition, If the increasing number of people in the cities, this leads to crime rates and unemployment rates. In other words, the stable society in the city and country is not in balance and the lack of employees in the country is increasing.
In conclusion, it is evident that there are several causes of the number of immigration into the cities, and a variety of negative effects. I highly recommend that governments need more regulation about population to ensure a standard of living for people in the countries.
