Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to express my deep regret that I cannot immediately start my work at your company right now.

To give a clear explanation about this delay in working, I’m currently not available in Viet Nam to start working. Last week, I was invited to one of my friends' houses in Europe in order to join in his marriage with my lovely sister - Diep. It was a very fantastic trip.

I had planned to fly back to Vietnam last Sunday, but unfortunately, the flight was cancelled because of the bad weather in Europe. The airline has informed me that the earliest flight will take off ( depart) on Saturday, which means that I still need to wait at least two days until I can get back to Vietnam.

Once again, I am sincerely sorry about this, and hopefully, you can be wise with my case. I am wondering whether it could be acceptable if I was allowed to start my first day at your company on the next Monday.
