Overall, it is clear that while there were the upward trends in the amount of coffee produced in Brazil,Indonesia,and Vietnam, that in Colombia exhibited a downward trend over the period. It is noticeable that Brazil was the biggest producer of coffee in all the surveyed years.
In 1990, the amount of coffee manufactured in Brazil stood at 0.7 million tonnes, making it the highest figure among the countries. Moreover, more coffee was produced in Colombia than in Indonesia, with exactly 0.6 as opposed to 0.2 million tonnes. Finally, Vietnam was recorded the lowest production of coffee in the market, whose amount was approximately 0.1 million tonnes.
Afterwards , the output of coffee in Brazil increased substantially to roughly 1.9 million tonnes in 2010, maintaining its highest ranking in the market, whereas that in Colombia followed an opposite pattern, decreasing steadily to end the period at about 0.3 million tonnes. However, the production in Indonesia and Vietnam experienced stability in the first 5 years, which was followed by pronounced growth, increasing to 0.3 and 0.4 million tonnes, respectively, in 2010.
