The table indicates the percentages of Japanese boys and girls school-leavers going to university since 1960 until 2000. Generally, the highest percentage stayed in 2000 at 67% in total which the boys had larger number than the girl.
According to the table, almost double of percentage which more boys finished their schools than the girls each 10 years. Surprisingly, the boys started the percentage at 15% while the girls got it in the last two decades. In addition, the lowest percentage of the males and females were 15% and 3% respectively and it was contrast in the end of period at successively 42% and 25%. Furthermore, the larger range between them occurred in 1980 by 28% deviation. Noticeably, the number of graduated student increased significantly every decade although there was a slight decrease in 1990.
Overall, only a few of girls Japanese student finished their study until graduation but then there was a steady decrease in every decade.
