Advantages and disadvantages of learning a foreign language at primary school

Languages are the main streams of communication of this universe. Some specialists believe that it is better to learn an overseas language at the elementary school rather than middle school. Studying additional language along with mother tongue has benefits as well as drawbacks. This essay will focus on both parts but in my opinion, advantages are greater than the cons.

Some research shows that kids who exposed to different languages at their age of 3 to 7 years are fluent in all thought languages. They are confident and more skillful. In addition, the study explains that the students from the primary school have a quick grasping attitude along with good memory compared to kids from high school. Small children are curious to learn new things, less conscious and they don’t worry about being perfect. They are flexible in pronunciation, flexible in the adaption of new ideas and culture. In other hands, a distinct language also helps in future career growth.

Other resource persons say that kids must not expose for many languages at the early stage since it may lead them into confusion and delay in development of native language. Moreover, it will be waste of time and energy because they have to learn other subjects like science, mathematics, social and mother tongue. It may ruin their play time and other activities.

To reiterate, there is particularly positive and negative view in learning a new language along with native language. In my point of view, kids should be exposed to different languages at the early stage to get more outcomes.
