Challenges of global manager

Essay topics:

Challenges of global manager

global managers have to face a variety of challenges in developing employees. they must encourage and develop talents of workers coming from different countries. Because their workers belong to diverse cultures and have different needs, they must provide as many tools as they can. The way they face up to these challenges might be the deviation between success and failure. some of the fundamental challenges are global collaboration, sustainable business strategy and core competencies.

Firstly, a global manager has to deal with the global collaboration among their subordinates, in other words, he or she needs to have the ability to effectively lead people from other cultures. To accomplish that mission well, he or she must possess good interpersonal relationships, excellent initiative, orientation toward success and cultural knowledge such as cultural sensitivity, cultural awareness, cultural differences… Becoming a successful global leader means he or she know how to inspire and motivate others, such as making their workers in all parts of the world collaborate by getting rid of cultural stereotypes as well as breaking down geographic boundaries. Without sharing ideas in a creative and supportive environment, even if this occurs in the virtual world, a global manager cannot help the global firm successfully handle challenges in its different market.

another aspect of challenges that a global manager has to overcome is creating sustainable business strategy. A global manager must organize his or her subordinates to create a sustainable competitive advantage. A company develops a business strategy that works so that it can provide the same product to people around the world. The challenge is in developing successful business practices that will keep the costs of producing a product in line and help the company maintain its competitive advantage.

Last but not least, a global manager is required to maintain and develope core competencies. A global manager must also help a company face operational challenges associated with maintaining core competencies. these are strategically developed competencies that give it an advantage in each market. if these competencies are weakened over time, a company will lose some of its market share to competitors. one way that a manager does this is by helping the company guard its knowledge of how to operate and to protect this knowledge from being shared with competitors.

Nowadays, all countries in the world have the trend towards global integration in any sort of aspects, and economy is not an exception. Therefore, many corporations also orient to expand their business in international markets, which triggers various challenges for global managers regarding markets, strategy, and the workers. To solve these issues successfully, they have to help their subordinates from other countries to collaborate with one another, planning a sustainable strategy, maintain and develop their core competencies.
