Subject: Procurement of Self-Priming Pumps-P-1238 A/B and P-1229 A/B
Dear Sir,
Please find attached herewith letter Ref. No:280172700-MET-MED-LT-018, dated 22nd July, 2018, from our Sub-Contractor-Metito.
The Sub-Contractor through this letter and attachments have clearly highlighted the changes in process parameters from tender requirement due to progressive design and subsequent comments by Company Engineering team.
In post bid clarification clause No.19, RLOC had instructed to source the pumps only from M/s Varisco. However, due to the above mentioned change in process parameters, M/s Varisco declined to quote accordingly.
Further, Sub-Contractor approached various vendors, and all those vendors regretted to quote. Accordingly, RLOC had then suggested to approach M/S Flowserve these Pumps.
Please note that the M/s Flowserve quotation is approximately seven times more than M/s Varisco quotation. Therefore Contractor requests Company to look into the cost difference between M/s Varisco & M/s Flowserve and compensate the difference amount to Contractor/Sub-Contractor.
Also, Contractor requests Company to relook into the possibility of using Submersible Pumps instead of Self-Priming Pumps as these are used worldwide in such plants and are also cost effective.
