Tet in Viet Nam

One of the most important festivals in viet nam is tet, also known as Lunar new year. it usually starts at the end of January or the beginning of February and lasts for 3 days. At the end of the previous year, we can enjoy the feeling of excitement by preparing for it, in which cleaning house is believed to banish ghosts and receive blessings. Besides buying peach or apricot,..; parallel sentences, red lanterns are used to decorate the house in the belief that they will bring luck, happiness. In 30 tet, I usually make Banh Chung, and see Tao Quan on TV with family, waiting until 00:00 watch the firework. On tet, we dressed new clothes up and get the family union and visit old friends, and go to pagodas, temples to wish luck. While the thing children most look forward to is receiving lucky money, for adults, they can clean the house, make food to worship their ancestors, meet friends,...I would say, in this day and age, tet has lost its original spirits. Many people treat it as a normal holiday in which they can have 2 weeks off to let off steam and release stress. However, tet is important to me. When it comes, I feel the feeling of belonging as it reminds me how long-standing it was as well as appreciate our forefathers who have sacrificed to save our country. If we didn’t have tet, I think we would have only a few times to meet each other because of the hustle and bustle of life. In summary, for me, tet is always the heart of viet nam
