Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I believe that keeping my old friends is more significant for me than making new friends. Here are several reasons support my opinion.

Old friends are people who know me more perfectly than the others, even my family. They spend their time for years with me, so they know me well. They are the most reliable people to share with. Personally, I am closer to my friends than to my parents. Since I was in senior high school, I had three best friends. We always did everything together, such as studying in the same high school and university. We were friends until we were in college. Being together frequently, everyone could see our closeness. They often called us as twins. Accordingly, I am comfortable to be around them.

Moreover, having old friends assists me to share my problem as well. I reckon that they are more trustworthy person than my relatives at home. One day, when I had problem with my school and my family, I told them my story. They suggested me to not be stressful continuously and invited me to study together to achieve better accomplishment at school. After hearing it, I felt more relieved to myself. On my mind, they are my life saver that always enable to heal my problems.

However, some people agree that they cannot always rely on the old friends, whereas they must make relationship with new friends. They think that they cannot always stay close with their old friends, especially for them who stay abroad. They always face different people every time. Day by day, they should recognize the people to be their friends. Same as my cousin, she used to be close to her friends and never wanted to make friends with the others. Until one day, she must leave Indonesia to the United States for studying. Even though she often provided her time to contact her friends, she felt that they cannot be always together. Ultimately, she forced herself to be more overt to the others to build friendship there. In fact, the old friends does not always mean everything.

In conclusion, even though there are many people come to me as my new cronies, I reckon that my old ones are more notable than them.
