Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In today’s tech-savvy, modernized yet hectic work-schedule age, food habits vary greatly amongst people. Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Others prefer ‘home-cooked’ food. I strongly support preparing and eating food at home. Although having food outside may save one’s time and energy, the benefits of preparing and having food at home are far more substantial.
Firstly, for a diet conscious person like me, preparing food at home keeps a check on daily calorie intake. It directly promotes a salubrious lifestyle. For example, instead of having cheese-filled pizzas that contain high levels of saturated fats and cholesterol, I can easily make my own no-cheese, salad-topping pizzas that limit my calorie intake. Additionally, preparing food at home ensures maximum hygiene.
Secondly, preparing and eating food at home is more economic than eating food outside. For a very nominal amount, one can prepare excellent food items at home. Savings on this aspect can prove to be quite substantial, especially for a student like me who has massive education loans. It allows one to keep monthly budget flexible or allocate expenses earlier made on food to other particulars. For example, I could save nearly 100 dollars per month that I used for buying additional books.
Thirdly, preparing food at home makes one more independent. Since one can prepare food of one’s choice at any given time, one is no longer dependent on outside food-stalls or restaurants for lunch/dinner and breakfast. Also, preparing food at home may improve one’s cooking skills.
Lastly, preparing and having food at home indirectly teaches one to manage time efficiently. Given the hectic work-schedule, one has to allocate considerable amount of time that is necessary for preparing food.
To conclude, I would rather prepare food and eat it at home rather than eat at food stalls or restaurants because its advantages far outweigh the advantages of eating outside.
