I think a good way of making new friends is to indulge in the activity that you really like. For example, if you are a bookworm, you can join a book club, if you are a music fan, you can join a chorus. Because first, in those clubs, people around you all shares the same interest with you, and its much more easier for you to start a conversation. Second, this relaxing atmosphere enables you to fully disclosure your great personality, and makes you more attractive to other people.
