TOEFL SPEAKING TASK 5: TAKING A CREATIVE WRITING COURSE
The woman has some difficulties with determining which course to take. She wants to take the creative writing course with professor C, but she is afraid that this course is so popular that it would be very crowded in the class and she would have no chance to talk to the professor individually. The man provides two solutions for the woman. The first solution is to take the creative writing course with another professor. There will be fewer students in the class and she may have the chance to discuss her project with the professor. But the woman is worrying about this professor may not as good as professor C. Another solution is to take professor C’s course next semester. The class will be at early morning next semester. Since students tend to get up late, it will be less students in the class. However, the woman is eager for opinions on her project right now. So she is not so willing to wait until next semester.
Briefly state the woman’s problem and her possible solutions. Which solution would you suggest and why.
