People do not have to get married to be happy, so more and more people to choose to stay single. Do you think it is a possible or negative trend?
Many people believe that the act of being spouseless brings about inevitably negative effects, yet it is my contention that the advantages of staying unmarried could outweigh its downside. First, flying solo could bring about a sense of self-reliance. Because of the fact that few relationships are destined for eternal success, it is not encouraged that a person should let their partner become the single subject in their mind. If that person does, they may have the tendency to lower their trust in their significant other. However, by living alone, people would live blissfully without the worry of losing self-trust. If they are not comfortable with that, single-hood will be the perfect lifestyle for them. Second, people who opt for single-hood would be provided with unlimited entertainment choices. This means they have the right to do whatever they have a fondness for without being interrupted by their cohabitating partner. Rejectors of singlehood argue that people may have to face the act of being lonely at old age. This argument sounds reasonable. Nevertheless, whether choosing to fly solo or to cohabitate with another person, humans in their old age cannot escape from being lonely. This is because their children will soon get married and move out to settle in another area. The parents themselves end up being isolated. In conclusion, there are undeniable benefits of singlehood.
