Is it better for students to study from home rather than go to school? Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
It is said that home study is better than studying at school. I disagree with this point of view to some extent.
On the one hand, it is understandable why some people believe that it is better for their children to study at home. The most important point is that studying from home makes children more flexible and independent, as they can have their own schedule according to their ability and do not need to be committed to time and rules imposed by school officials. Also, they can have enough time in a day to do some extra homework to improve their skills in their academic courses. In addition to this, studying at home can be more cost-effective for parents because they do not need to spend a lot of money on transportation and other facilities required at school, such as junk food expenditure, which can also be unhealthy.
Despite the benefits mentioned above, I believe that there are some disadvantages to home study. Distractions are often a major threat to productivity when studying at home. Family members, friends, and relatives may intentionally or unintentionally not let children concentrate on their studies. Even if children are isolated from them, their noise can pose a problem. Additionally, it can be difficult for schoolchildren to focus on writing their tasks, listening to lectures, and reading their books when they are conscious of the TV program being watched by their parents. Moreover, we have to consider that all humans need to have a special structure for their activities to thrive. While studying at home provides freedom for students, it easily encourages procrastination. According to my experience, when there are no strict rules defined for children to study, they may find it difficult to become organized and disciplined. This situation can become worse when they lose their motivation to study and become introverted, as they are confined to the closed space of home and do not have any connections with their peers.
In conclusion, in my view, the disadvantages of home study outweigh its advantages, and it is better for students to study at school.
