Based on the reading conditions on Venus are not appropriate to establish human living on it. The article provides three reasons to support it. However, the lecturer explains that none of the reasons are true and refutes each of the author's reasons.
The author argues that atmospheric pressure at Venus surface is so higher than the pressure on Earth, so humans whom might land on Venus will be crushed under this high pressure. In contrast, the lecturer demonstrates that pressure has a direct connection with height. By going to higher elevations on Venus, the pressure will be lower. So we can establish a balloon-like shape around the Venus about 50 kilometers upper of the Venus surface. In this elevation atmospheric pressure is adequate to human. As a result, the contribution that the author explained seems to be really dubious.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that there are not enough water and oxygen on Venus' surface and transferring these elements from Earth to Venus will not be a practical solution. Nevertheless, the lecturer illustrates that Venus' surface contains a high amount of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid and these elements can change to water and oxygen by chemical processes. Therefore, the low amount of water and oxygen supplies would not be a considerable problem.
Finally, the reading asserts that the sunlight on the Venus surface is too low to make electricity. The lecturer opposes this point by proposing a solution. She claims that above the 50 kilometers the sunlight is proper to make electricity. Moreover, she suggests using reflected sunlight by clouds to produce more electricity. Consequently, this claim does not possess a strong support in order to be acceptable.
