he reading passage is about changing of time working in the U.S companies. Clerks work for 5 days a week for eight hours and many employees attempt to change it to 4 days in a week and get 80 percent ot their normal pay it should be optional.but the lecturer rejects this idea and says employees force to work 4 days in a week and it’s not optional because it can be wasting the time .
Firstly , the reading passage mentions the working four days cause decrease different unnecessary expenses and as a result company hire more people and it is useful for the company.also, company can spend 20 percent for other works such as hiring new clerks.the lecturer rejects this idea and says costs are the same and need more office spaces and computers because company will respect to all employees. In addition to, hiring new people is by far more expensive.
According to the reading passage employees won’t be tired and they have more motivation for innovating and working but the lecturer rebuts this claim and says it’s not possible because each clerk does his or her individual duties in company and hiring new people can be risky .
The reading passage is stated on working in 4 days are better because employees have more free time and they can do their personal things and spend more time with their family and use their free time as well . However, the lecturer rejects that and claims that employees will lose their promotion and maybe lose their jobs.
