Threading passage and the lecture both discuss the three arguments about the possibility of using “burning mirror” by the Greek when they defend against the attack by the Roman.
First, the author mentions the technology was not improved at that time in the Greek for using such weapon because there is a special design for the mirror. The professor avers that the experiment shows us not need to a large mirror to produce the fire, in contrast, we need a small piece of that to do such burn.
Second, the reading passage states the time to set a fire should be long enough. While the speaker cast doubt on that by explaining the materials used in the building a ship not only wood, but there is a sticky substance that also uses. Moreover, this material could burn in a second.
Third, the reading passage telling us about the arrows are more useful than the mirror. The professor discusses the mirror are more effective and surprising than the arrows
