As can be seen from the chart, the percentage of illiteracy in women was much higher than men, while the majority of illiteracy rates have more popular in south Asia over the period shown.
There was rarely unlettered in developed countries in both genders from approximately 1% to 2%. The trend was true stability at 10% in Latin America/ Caribbean countries.
In contrast, the figure of analphabetic in female was higher, compared to male increased significantly to approximately 20% at the other four countries: East Asia/ Oceania, Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab states and South Asia. The percentage of illiteracy in South Asia went up to reach at over 30%, roughly 50% which broken down male and female respectively.
