The lecturer rejects the ideas presented in the reading passage about the problems involved in maintaining permanent human presence on Venus.
The lecturer argues that the first reason, greater atmospheric pressure, would not affect the life of people on Venus if stations are being made above the land surface. The stations would not be contact with the ground, they will be like balloons and thus, the pressure would be much lower than the surface and there would be no danger of getting down. Therefore this technique of establishing the stations above the ground protect the humans from effects of high pressure. The read passage, however, argues that the life on Venus is impossible due to its 90 times greater atmosphere than Earth.
Regarding the second reason, no reservoirs of water on Venus, the lecturer explains that harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfuric acid can be kept away from the atmosphere by certain chemical processes. Also, the substances required for these chemical processes can be easily available on Venus. In contrast, the reading passage gives the opposite view that life is not possible without due to the presence of harmful gases.
Finally, the lecturer objects the third reason - very little sunlight reaches on Venus surface. He points out that Solar power cells can be applied to in places of clouds which can attract more sunlight and will reflect it to the surface.
