The diagram shows the sequences of purifying sea water into drinkable water.
First of all, the saltwater which is taken from the sea flows into pre-treatment filter where the water is forced through membrane at high pressure to the next filter and the backwash of filter returns to the sea. In this process, salt and other impurities are separated from the molecules of water. On the other hand, sea water concentrated returns to the sea.
At the next stage of process, the purified water inters the post-treatment filter with lime, chlorine and fluoride. Then it saves in storage to integrate water supply system.
In general, saltwater changes to drinkable water in three simple steps.
