You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
• Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
Dear XYZ,
I have received your letter yesterday, wherein you have sought an opinion about getting an admission in the college or to taking up any job.
I will try to give my best opinion, considering your goal of pursuing a career in the engineering discipline, and ultimately starting your own business. I would suggest you take a gap year and start a job.
By taking a gap year and doing some job, you will not only accumulate practical knowledge of business but also earn money, which you can use to pay for your college next year. If you take an admission in college by borrowing money from your family, you won’t feel satisfied and enjoy your studies as it’s against your conscience. I know that you always wanted to be self-reliant for your own needs.
If you take a gap year and do some jobs, you will be preparing yourself for your ultimate objective. There are many entry-level job ads appear in the national newspaper and apply for I.T. Assistant or Chef jobs, which are your hobbies.
Yours truly,
