The bar chart compares Australian males and females of different ages in terms of the participation in regular physical exercise in the year 2010.
Overall, it is clear that males outnumbered females in the youngest age group in working out, whereas more females in the older age groups took part in physical activities on a regular basis.
Regarding the 15 to 24 year-old group, while 52.8 percent of men were interested in doing exercise frequently, the figure for their female counterparts was marginally lower, at 47.7 percent. Interestingly, the percentages of people at the end of the age scale participating in regular physical activities were remarkably similar for both genders, at approximately 47 percent.
Women aged from 35 to 64 years old were among the most bodily active groups with around 53 percent of females exercising regularly, whereas the figures for men aged 25 to 64 were around 6 to 12 percent lower. It is also striking that 35 to 44-year-old men were considered to be the most passive group which accounted for only 39.5 percent.
