The pie charts above gives information about rates of industrial, agricultural and domestic usages of water in six different geographical regions of the world.
Overall, the water used on crop production is the highest in areas like Central Asia, Africa, South East Asia and South America compared to North America and Europe. Whereas, in regions like Europe and North America water is more used industrially. However, domestic use of water is relatively less among all six regions.
As you can see, a higher percentage of water is used on agriculture than industrial and domestic uses in parts such as Central Asia, Africa, South East Asia and South America with rates of 88, 84, 81 and 71 respectively. In contrast, only 39 and 32 percent of water is used on crop production in North America and Europe.
On the other hand, the percentage of water used industrially in Europe and North America is 53 and 48 individually, which is also the highest among the other four areas. The percentage of Industrial use of water in the other four areas except for Europe and North America lies between 12% to 5%. Furthermore, all six regions have the least percentage of use of water in domestically that is between 19% to 7%.
