Overall, it is clear that both males and females in the UK spend most of their time sleeping. Also, there is a significant difference between time spent on employment and study, housework, and childcare between the two groups.
On average, British males and females spend approximately 8 hours on sleep. Leisure activities take up the second largest proportion of their time. Men spend 5 hours and 25 minutes on doing activities like watching TV/DVD, listening to radio/music or doing sport, while women have 4 hours and 53 minutes for leisure time.
Males and females in the UK have a different amount of time daily for employment and study. Men spend 3 hours and 45 minutes on work, 79 minutes more than that of women. However, it takes females 96 hours more than men on doing housework and childcare.
