The given charts illustrates the water consumption of numerous sectors of Sydney citizens in two years - 1997 and 2007.
Overall, while water usage of food industry was highest, building industry accounted for lowest percentage of consumption in both years.
It is obviously seen that in 2007, there was 48% water used for food industry which was the highest consumption in total. This figure decreased by 7% in 2007. Service and building sectors witness the same trend. To be more specific, the rate of service industry’s water usage decreased from 15% in 1997 to 11% in 2007 while the water consumption in building sector which felt to 2% in 2007 accounted for the smallest water usage in both years.
In a sharp contrast, this figure of housing usage slightly increased in this period, from 19% to 21%. Besides, the percentage of water use for manufacturing sector in 1997 was 13% which nearly thdoubled to 25% in 2007.
