Overall, it is clear that the percentage unemployed of the group aged 16-24 always higher than overall the rest of England and fluctuate continuously through 19 years. London always has a higher proportion than the rest of England.
In the group 16-24 years old, there was a gradual decline in unemployment rates from 22% and 18% in 1993 to 15% and just above 10% in 2002, in London and the rest of England, respectively. In the next 10 years, the percentage unemployed in this group in London rise dramatically from 15% in 2002 to reach a peak of 25% in 2012. The proportion of group aged 16-24 in the rest of England also have a similar morphed but is lower nearly 5% than the group of London in 2012.
It is clear that the percentage unemployment of overall England includes London to decrease over the period. Overall London, there was a sharp drop in proportion unemployed from 14% in 1993 to nearly 8% in 2000, and stay the around the same this figure to 2008, before rising again at just below 10% in 2012. Over 12 years, the percentage of the rest of England also slightly reduced from 10% in 1993 to 8% at the end of the period.
