ecotourism environment
The Proffesor claims that eco-turism, even though is a good replacement for other ways of development, has negative effects.
The author states that this kind of turism would reduce the harm to the environment, and gives the example of a rainforest, whose living creatures aren’t affected by this development form. But the professor refutes this by explaining that the government cannot assure that illegal huntting, or logging won’t happen. Furthermore, the roads built for the tourist could be used for this heynous activities.
The writer also provides the argument that green-turism would provide jobs and better life conditions for locals. The speaker claims that they will get more jobs, but this jobs wil have the lowest wages- for the highest paying jobs will be taken by foreigners. Moreover, the native culture woud be disrupted, because tourist will force their beliefs and customs into this places.
To summarize, the lecturer explains that eco-turism does not only have good consequences, but also has negative ones. He uses the instances the author wrote about to explain some negative effects: The environment illegal damaging, the local life endangerment.
