The charts below give information on the ages of population of Yemen and Italy in 2002 and projection for 2050.
Given are the pie charts illustrating the population of two distinct countries, namely Yemen and Italy, in terms of three different age groups in 2000 and predicting for five decades later.
Looking at the information, it is noticeable that more people who aged from 15 to 59 years old are forecasted in Yemen while the majority of Italian population will belong to the senior group.
In the year 2000, over half of Yemeni population were less than 15 years old, followed closely by the figure for 15-59-year-old residents, at precisely 45.3%. Meanwhile, the dominant proportion in Italy’s chart was recorded by people ageing 15-59 years old, merely six-tenth, four times as much as the rate of the youngest group. Additionally, there was a big difference in the percentage of elderly people between Yemen and Italy, with 3.6% and 24.1%, respectively.
The next 50 years are predicted to see a surge of nearly 10% in the percentage of 15-59-year-old Yemeni citizens and a sharp decrease in the figure for the children and teenager group to just over one-third. In stark contrast, the size of the senior population in Italy will expand twofold to 42.3% in 2050 while a minor increase is projected for this statistic of Yemen.
