The bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian male and female participating in day-to-day physical workouts in 2010.
Overall, the percentage of men carrying out the physical exercise is decreasing with the increase in the age group until forties and shows increasing trend thereafter, while the greater proportion of women are participating in the exercises with increasing age group.
Starting up with the male, the highest percentage of the male that is 52.8 are found doing regular physical activity in the age group 15 to 54. The proportion seems to decline with the increase in age groups reaching the lowest 39.5 percentage in the age group 35 to 44. Afterwards the gradual rise in the number of men participating in physical activity is noticed.
In contrast, the trend in number of females doing regular physical activity seems to rise gradually with increase in the age group and smiting at 53.3 percent in the age group 45 to 54 and with the lowest score of 47.1 in the most elderly age group, 65 and over. Almost similar share of male and female are found in age group 65 and over with 46.7 and 47.1 respectively whereas largest gap of about 13 percent between the two is found in 35 to 44 age group.
