Three ways for controlling cane toads in order not to over populate in Australia
Both of the reading and listening discuss whether the methods for reducing the number of the cone toads is useful or not. The reading passage states that following method are helpful. In contrast, the professor rejects all the them by introducing some evidence.
Firstly, the reading passage claims that in order to prevent the cane toad in to fields, it is better the people or government erect a national fence around the country. However, the speaker dismisses this idea by saying that with the building the fence may be the big cane toads are not able to go other side but, the small ones are able to penetrate in to other side and after a while they will start to mate. Hence, this practice helps them increase in the other side of fence. in addition, the eggs of them easily are moved to other side. Therefore, this approach is not feasible.
Secondly, the reading says that with the giving permit to volunteers, they collect these animal because these easily are gathered by hand without any tools for hunting. In contrast, the professor says that they pay attention to gather frogs instead, and this issue is so dangerous.
Finally, the reading passage states that the scientists can be create a certain virus in order to it can decrease the number of these animal without harming to other specious. In contrasts, the professor casts doubt this point. she says that this practice has a lot of consequences .and she says how can they do this action, that is this method is not practical and it causes the other animal destroy. What is more, the ecosystem will suffer from this action.
