Last month, I called my uncle who lives in Sankt-Petersburg and he offered me to visit them. I consult my parents about it and we decided that I should go to Sankt-Petersburg, so I could see my uncle’s family and also broaden my horizons.
This was my first travel with plane and I saw airports of both cities, namely Baku and Sankt-Petersburg. Both of airports are very busy and I didn’t expect so many people there. Compared to Baku, Sank-Petersburg airport is overly huge and attractive and also there are more planes which go to most countries of the world directly than Baku airports. My uncle met me there and he made a promise that he would show me many interesting places in the city.
My uncle said that Saint Petersburg is home to more than two hundred museums, many of them hosted in historic buildings. Of course, we wouldn’t visit all of them, but we drop in Hermitage Museum which is the largest of the museum and has featuring interiors of the former imperial residence and a vast collection of art. Every year many tourists come there and they can find out a lot of absorbing information about Russian art. However, such museums aren’t organized well in my hometown. Apart from that, we went to the parks and one of them is called Summer Garden. It is the oldest one, dating back to the early 18th century and designed in the regular style. It is situated on the southern bank of the Neva and is famous for its cast iron railing and marble sculptures. Nevertheless, in our city parks don’t have a long history, so they were created some years ago, whereas they need to be developed as well.
I really like transport system of this city, so transports consist of buses, trams, trolleybuses and underground. All of them work punctually and drivers are very kind and careful and they don’t do other deeds behind helm such as talk on the phone, thus we need such transport system.
It was a great trip and I enjoy it. Also, I could learn some information about Russia and Russian language a little. However, I couldn’t adjust to the weather because it was chilly.
