TPO16Q1
The reading passage and lecture are both about The United kingdom known as britain has a tremendous amount of histories and cultural artefacts and they have may somewhat be lost during the industrial era. The author strongly postulates that most of revealing and investigating old remains confront with many obstacles and restrictions because of the development years. On the other hand, The listening adamantly delineates that the government legislated the new guideline in 3 areas which are mentioned in the passage because of several compelling reasons.
First and foremost, According to the author of the excerpt that in1950s the population amazingly increased so they had to start building project throughout valuable archaeological areas. Furthermore, while the builders were doing the construction of the base, they didn't retain the relics which were destroyed at that time. Nonetheless, The professor offsets these points by asserting that the government required the companies to examine whether there were any artefacts located before beginning the construction. If they found any archaeological interests or value they informed to government officials and building conductors to make a plan to preserve it.
On top of this, the professor in the lecture elaborates these points by bringing up that it was paid by constitution companies not government to made initial archaeological examination before using certain areas so it means they received enough fund from wealthy companies. these claims refute the author's implications about many experts couldn't be financially supported by the government because of their priorities lead to a decrease in the fund.
The text lastly insists that pursuing a career as archaeologists is a hardship because a few agencies and universities wanted to subsidise their researches, thus most of them prefer to work in other undesirable jobs. The speaker in lecture counters these indications by asserting that many experts carry out many stages of the process in researches and investigations so it was fairly possible that they paid well due to conducting many procedures so today they are highly respected by britain.
