According to the passage, there is some technique to save the frog from extinction. The lecture, however, doubts these techniques, and thinks that none of these methods are very practical.
First, the passage argues that pesticides which use for saving the farmlands from harming will threaten the frog's lives. This concept is refuted by the lecture, which claims that reducing pesticides is not economically practical or fair. If farms in neighboring frog habitats have to follow some strict rules in usage of pesticides, those farmers have severe problems in comparison to other farmers. They may lose more crops in contrast to other farmers.
Second, the passage explains that frogs are in danger by the fungus, and there are some treatments that can prevent frogs from infection. The lecture, on the contrary, disagrees with this belief, suggesting that these treatments should apply individually for each frog. Also, these treatments should apply for offsprings and all generation. Therefore, using these treatments are very complicated and expensive.
Third, the author of the passage writes that another factor in this context is that the habitats of frogs are in danger, and this matter reduces the frog population. It is very practical to save the water habitats from excessive water use. The lecture, in contrast, states that this method is not very safe for frog population. The real problem in this situation is global warming.
