No field of study can advance significantly unless it incorporates knowledge and experience from outside that field.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.
humans have come a long way in their evolutionary trail, developing and perfecting different skills along the way. these skill sets were then categorized, smiliar skills together, for convinience to form fileds. Generations to come have experimented, found what is best to them, and chosen these fields and followed suit. though the skills sets needed for different fields are different when looked at them from a high level view, when analysing them in a more in depth manner reveals the similarities and the corelations that exist among these fields. when developing a given field, the suiters of that field lose the ability to see beyond a boundary due to hard binding into a specific skill set. However the suiters of naother field may see the aforementioned dark scope, due to the skillsets they are perfecting. A relevent knowledge transfer from the field that percieves this knowledge to a field that does not percieve this knowledge could result in the development of the latter field. Furethermore, the constructive criticism and the amendments done to the transferred knowledge can result in more thorough enlightement in the field that originally percieved the said knowledge. it is comming from this stream of argument that I agree with the statement that no field of study can advance significanlty unless it incorporates knowledge and experience from outside that field.
mathematics is known to be one of the puresest fields known to human kind. it is pure in the sense, that it is solely based on abstract theories, and every theories in mathematics does not need any practical proof or clarification. physics on the other hand, is heavily dependent on the practicality. physics bases mathematics at its foundation for advancing its theories. In this way physics incorporates knowledge from mathematics to the advancement of it. but here is the twist. The world renown physisist, specifically lauded and praised for the discovery of the concept of gravity, was one of the key contributors to the mathematics. He invented the derivatives, which now composes a huge branch in mathematics - Calculus. The knowledge transfer between these two fields have allowed the significant developmnet of the fields. Despite such transfer, either field might not have advanced to the extent that they have come upto now.
Now let us consider a younger field of study - machine learning. machine learning at its core implements linear algebra and statistics. but in past decades, it has borrowed knowledge from an unlikely field-communication theory. though it is less intuitive how communication theory would bolster develop the field of machine learning, it can be safely said that the awe and accolades that machine learning recieves, would have not exist if there was no such field as communication theory. key components of machine learning models like binary cross entropy, categorical cross entropy are borrowed knowledge from communication theory.
The synergy between fileds is a vital requirement for continued, faster, signiicant growth in them. this allows the approach of "divide and conquer" approach for the acadamia. this borrowal of knowledge hinders redundacny which allows the significant improvement of fields.
