You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating/cooling
a system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
give details of what went wrong
explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
say what action you would like the manager to take
Dear Manager,
I have been a regular visitor at your renowned hotel and always prefer to stay here during my every visit to Chandigarh. The wonderful ambience of the hotel along with the courteous staff has always fascinated me. However, my last visit was a sheer disappointment.
This is to bring your kind attention to the grievances I witnessed. Firstly, the air conditioners of the room were non-functional throughout the day and the recorded temperature of that day was 48 degrees. Moreover, there were no ceiling fans which added more inconvenience to my stay. Secondly, the stinking air was coming out of the conditioners as if no service has been done from quite a long time.
Even after reporting the issue and requesting for the room change, no stringent actions were taken by the staff. It was my one day visit to the city and I had to board a flight in the early morning, therefore, to have a comfortable night I was obliged to change my hotel which cost me quite expensive.
Considering the problems, I request you to take some measures to tackle such kind of issues. Primarily, the hotel employees should be instructed to resolve the issues of visitors on time. Next, the proper maintenance of the infrastructure should be done for its proper functioning, in order to provide a pleasant stay.
Looking forward to immediate actions.
Yours faithfully,
Prabh
