Work is being done on the street where you live. The noise is disturbing you.
Write a letter of complaint to your local council. In your letter:
* Introduce yourself
* explain what the problem is
* suggest solutions to the problem
Dear Sirs Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to you to express my complaint about the noise that the construction work caused is causing/has caused to our living places.
My family live in the street near the construction site. We have to work hard during the day and need to rest in the evening and night. However, because of the noise from the work, we could not sleep. It negatively affected affects our health and we could not work effectively on the next day. Moreover, the children could not concentrate on studying at home and it is difficult for them to sleep.
In my opinion, in order to resolve this problem, the manager should be asked to rearrange the working time. For example, the suitable time may be between 8am and 5pm every day, instead of up to 12pm as during the past days. In addition, in case there is any plan to work overtime, they should have a notice to us so that we can arrange proper time for our daily activities.
I hope this letter will reach you soon and I will receive your reply as soon as possible.
Yours respectfully,
